The Founding Group is comprised of Glenn Pierce, Robert Cambo, Dr. Tamara Moodie and Susan L. Leon, all of whom are parents and professionals who have been touched by autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and who strive to provide the best possible individualized education for children with ASD.
Glenn Pierce
Mr. Pierce is the President of the Turner-Agassi Charter School Facilities Fund. Prior to the formation of Turner-Agassi, he was the founder and CEO of Pacific Charter School Development, a nonprofit developer of charter school campuses based in Los Angeles. Over the past decade, he and his team have built more than 70 schools serving over 32,500 at-risk students and their families. He has been a leader in the charter school movement since 1997, following management roles with Citibank and PepsiCo. He holds an AB in Economics and Business from Lafayette College and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate Citicorp’s Institute for Global Finance and the Broad Superintendents Academy. He is the parent of a child with autism.
Robert Cambo
Mr. Cambo is the CEO of Alliance Companies, a private real estate development company based in Coconut Grove, which has built four (4) charter school campuses serving 4,000 students over the last four (4) years. In addition, he has developed over 1 million square feet of commercial space since 1994. Mr Cambo is a graduate of Harvard University’s Real Estate Leadership program in 2006 and earned his MBA from the University of Miami in 1989. Mr. Cambo is very active in the autism community and a Silver Sponsor of Autism Speaks and UM/NSU CARD. He is the parent of a child with autism.
Tamara Moodie, Ph.D
Dr. Moodie has 17 years experience in autism education. She has a B.A. in Psychology, an M.A. in Special Education, and a Ph.D. in Education/Administration, and is certified to teach in the State of Florida. She has also completed her coursework for her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. Dr. Moodie is presently the Principal/Director at SFACS. Dr. Moodie was recently honored as part of Legacy Magazine’s “Top 25 Most Influential & Prominent Black Women in Business,” as well as “2011 Woman of Excellence” by Nostalgia in Gold, Inc.
Susan L. Leon
Mrs. Leon has 15 years experience as a paralegal and 8 years experience in fundraising/grantwriting. She has a B.A. in Public Administration from Florida International University, and is presently the Development Director at SFACS. Ms. Leon is a member of The Miami Foundation Miami Leaders Class of 2014-15. She is the parent of a child with autism.
